Lead Sprinkler Tech

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Sprinkler Technician to oversee the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. The Lead Sprinkler Technician will serve as the primary point of contact in the field, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and company standards. This role also includes supervising junior technicians, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and perform installation, service, inspection, testing, and repair of fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge).

• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, state/local fire codes, and company policies.

• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide project execution.

• Train, mentor, and supervise sprinkler apprentices and technicians on job sites.

• Conduct quality checks to ensure systems are installed and functioning properly.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors to maintain smooth project flow.

• Complete required documentation including inspection reports, service tickets, and material requisitions.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in safe working condition.

• Uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or trade school preferred).

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in fire sprinkler installation and service, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 25, and other applicable codes.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
